A campaign is established by the BDPA Education & Technology Foundation(BETF) organizaation, established to prepare the African American Community to lead and leverage the knowledge revolution for the benefit of the community-at-large.

The Growing Importance of IT in YOUR Life

BETF's main focus areas are scholarships and community technology centers.

The Black Family Technology Awareness Week: The BFTAW campaign focuses on introducing the Black community to the latest technology, educating the community about technology's importance in everyday life and the opportunities it is creating for the future.

With Right Knowledge the People Live On!

The campaign's activities unite families, centers of worship, civic organizations and individuals to learn how to incorporate technologies into their everyday life. We continually search for lucrative income oportunities on the Web so as to encourage our members to be diversified to offset income interruptions due to technology shifts. We also seek in depth knowledge about the Worldwide Web and share what we learn with one another. Presently (December 2006) we are considering The Affiliate Masters Course presented by Ken Evoy at SiteSell.Com. We are open for discussion about what we learn and its merits. Right now, for 10 years, one officer has returned

from doing BDPA Chapter

recruitment work in Ghana,

West Africa and has worked

extensively for a major airline,

travelling worldwide.

We are offering memberships

and Self-Improvement studies

in educational and culltural

tutoring online and off-line which

we expect to help our fund raising

Pgh-bdpa chapter has an educational service, established for instruction in Voice Culture and Effective Speech. We are also willing to help with those who desire to study the English language. This chapter has been granted use of a computer curriculum from The Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council.

We have put in over 600 hours of volunteer service for the prestigious Andrew Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh as computer sign-up and assistance to users of the library's computers in the Central Branch Downtown Pittsburgh.

Presently, we offer computer and Self-Improvement programs in the East Liberty Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, every week day from 4pm to 6:30 pm, Monday thru Wednesday and 4pm to 5pm on Thursdays.

TELEVISION PRODUCER TRAINING

We share our videos and information as produced on local PCTV21 television station, sharing them domestically and abroad.
